    Haluro Herria

«Euskal Herría: Country of Euskera; land of the basques; home of the basque…»

There, trunks are dragged by oxen to maintain the fire in the house for a year. They are the Gabonzuzi, the torch of Christmas Eve.

The Jentles, giants of a extraordinary strength, drag enormous stones and throw them to grate distances. Basajaun, the lord of the forest, twisted the teeth of a saw to bother his neighbor and realized then he had made a saw of set teeth…

There is another reality in which one betrays and abandons what one loves, the last act of abandonment being death.

«Every home is felt as one when lost, and it’s impossible (if it weren’t it would be disappointing) to go back to it»

It is restless the destruction of a ship –powerful– like a beached whale. Even more restless is the silhouette and shadows.

The integration of an imagined reality with the perceived one through the registry of identified symbols builds a space that’s ours: Haluro Herría
